While waiting to finish the meat, place 2 cups of corn chips in a pie plate or casserole dish.
Crush the chips slightly to lay flat on the bottom of the dish. I used Fritos but you can substitute your favorite corn chips.
Once the meat has browned, drain it and return it back to the skillet. Add 1 package (8 oz.) of shredded taco-seasoned cheese and melt completely.

Spoon the beef mixture over the crushed chips; press gently with back of spoon to form an even layer. Top with an additional cup of corn chips and 1/2 cup of salsa (or more).
