Amazing Grace

If you listen to this song

Then look at these pictures...

You might understand how I am feeling... as my grandfather was baptized on Father's Day, at 86 years old. Oh how my heart gave thanks to God for his love and mercy. He offers us grace that we can never outgrow.

I wish I could have been there to hug his neck but I'm so thankful that Chuck was there to document this special time for our family. My father-in-law was about to have surgery that week so Chuck was in town to be with him. So thankful for a husband who loves my family as much as I do!

That same Sunday, I worshipped with our Oaks City Church family and was able to share this news with others who rejoiced with me. As we sang that night, I was overcome with emotion. The words to Amazing Grace never rang so true in my heart.

Amazing grace, how sweet the sound
that saved a wretch like me
I once was lost but now am found
was blind, but now, I see.

T'was grace that taught
my heart to fear
And grace, my fears relieved
How precious did that grace appear
the hour I first believed.

Through many dangers, toils and snares
we have already come
T'was grace that brought us safe thus far
and grace will lead me home.

The Lord has promised good to me
His word my hope secures
He will my shield and portion be
as long as life endures.

When we've been there ten thousand years
bright shining as the sun
We've no less days to sing God's praise
than when we've first begun.
