HES 5th grade concert

Any time a school performance rolls around Noah tries to get out of it... "I don't NEED to be there, Mom" or "It doesn't matter." Well, he didn't really get a choice. He went. And he was forced to wear khaki pants and a sweater. Nothing he'd ever choose on a normal day. I mean really, this kid wants to be in gym shorts and a t-shirt everyday. 30 degrees? Doesn't matter. "I don't get cold, Mom!" It's a wonder the school social worker hasn't called asking if he even owns a coat. But anyway... he went to the program and surprisingly didn't get really anxious as he normally would. He was actually all smiles before the program started...

It's kind of complicated having 4 different tracks of kids in a year-round school. There's not one big program, but several broken up by ages. This program was for tracks 2 and 4 kindergarten and 5th grade students. The little ones came up and sang a few songs then the 5th graders performed. Their program was high-lighting their instruments... They were playing the recorder and boomwhackers!
Honestly, it was a little sleepy but you didn't hear that from me, ok?!

We noticed that half way through the program Noah was wiping his eyes. At first I thought he was crying then I realized he was laughing. Turns out, the boy next to him was playing the wrong notes, and so Noah got all tickled. Which is exactly what your supposed to do in the middle of a program, right? My word.

Good job, Noah! Except, next time lets try to leave out all the laughing part. And don't stand next to that little boy:)
