...til the end of the school year! 1 week left for our kids and then they get a 4 week break. Welcome to the life of a year-round student!
The 4th graders had their end-of-year picnic yesterday. On the VERY hottest day of the year so far! It was intended to be a time for the families to relax and enjoy lunch together... most everyone found themselves trying to find some shade, which wasn't easy with that many people on campus. I'm pretty sure most of the parents were before passing out... it was that hot! The kids had a water balloon toss/competition after they were done eating. And in typical 4th grade fashion, it was madness! Balloons flying everywhere. Kids chasing and screaming. Laughter. Fun. Memories!
The kindergarten students just finished a unit on ocean animals. So, today was Ocean Day for them... in other words, it was water day! I signed up to help but actually got to walk around with Natalie's class and watch them have a blast! They had all sorts of water stations... digging for treasures in the sand, water relays, balloon tosses, sprayers, sprinklers, and on and on. I captured a few shots with my phone of my girl in action!
I love the opportunities I get to be involved in their activities at school. But as we all know, the older kids don't have as much fun:)
I got an invitation to come to the Patriot Pride Character Breakfast at the middle school with Evan... a time they honor students for being good role models. I had every intention of going this morning until Evan said "Mom, parents don't really come to that. Please don't come." Well then.
