End of season celebration - Bulldog style

Since the Bulldogs football season didn't end until December, we opted to wait and host the end of season party after the holidays. That gave us more time to plan and prepare for our one last time together as a team... As the team parents, Chuck and I took the lead in planning the event. Actually, Chuck did most of the work and he did a great job. Since he is the Facilities Coordinator at Providence Baptist Church, we were able to use the fellowship hall there for our private event. With over 100 people in attendance, we served hamburgers, hotdogs, baked beans, pasta salad, chips, and dessert. We got to the church around noon on Saturday to get everything ready... we got home around 10:30 that night. We were worn out but thankful to have been able to serve our players and parents this way.

Chuck has a love for cooking and for hosting so he was at home in this commercial kitchen. Evan helped out a lot in the kitchen too while I finished decorating and setting up the coaches gifts.

The tables were complete with red, black, and white linens, confetti, and red and white candies/mints.

The tables were situated so that everyone could see the screen well... we had video hi-lights from our regular season and a separate video from just our games at Disney! Both were 45 minutes long and included clips from interviews at Disney and photos taken after we won the National Championship! So fun to watch!

The front tables served as display for the players trophies/awards and the coaches gifts. Each coach received an autographed Bulldog helmet from the players and a silver engraved coaches whistle.

We are so thankful to have worked with such an awesome coaching staff! Coach Ray, Coach Delvin, Coach Trevor, Coach Steve B., Coach Scott, and Coach Steve C.... you guys rock!! Thanks for an awesome season!

Seven players were honored as All American Scholar Athletes. Each were presented with a medallion for their academic achievements.

Congratulations to Evan, Connor, Bryce, Thayer, Josh, Seve, and Victor.

Each player received a trophy and their credentials and ID card from Disney...

... and probably the most exciting surprise - each player was presented with their jersey from this season. Typically, the jersey's are turned in and used from season to season until they are completely worn out! BUT, since this team made history and became the first team from North Raleigh to ever win a national title, they were given their jersey's to keep. They also had 2 patches added to the front...

... The Mid-South Region Championship patch and the 2011 Pop Warner National Championship patch.

And in the event we want to re-live all the fun football moments from the season, we are now the proud owners of all the footage from the games, all the photos from the season, and copies of the hi-light videos too:)
