A sick kid and a rainy night really changes the dynamics of Halloween. Natalie woke up sick so I took her to the doctor while the boys went to school. Noah thought that school should be cancelled so trick-or-treating could last all day. Can you imagine kids going door to door all day and loading up on candy, only to come home and want to consume it all? Thankfully that isn't the case!
So, the doctor said that Nat has walking pneumonia/bronchitis. Not what she wanted to hear... she missed her fall party at school and knew she'd have to skip out on trick-or-treating as well. I hated for her to feel like she was totally missing out. So what's a Mom to do but organize trick-or-treating from door-to-door down the hallway of our house. She knocked on doors and Noah greeted her with a bucket of candy:)
See? She got to dress up and get candy... and we never even left the house:) After the hallway trick-or-treating we made brownies and watched a movie. I also got out a castle/tent that Natalie had been given that we'd never used. Chuck popped it up in the middle of the living room and it served as lots of entertainment today since she was out of school again...
Cute, right? Natalie was so excited about it. I'm not sure that she'll ever be ready for us to take it down!
Since she was home-bound, I went to the library today to pick out a new selection of books for us to read. Of course, the books made it into the tent...
Lots of other things made it into the tent... games, candy, barbies, cheer bears, brownies, and me!
Even if she is sick, it's always fun to hang out with my girl! Praying she is better soon.
