We never expected how our lives would change on May 22, 1998. It is amazing to look back on our lives and see how the Lord has used big and small changes to shape us into what He wants us to be.
We were practically babies, yet we were becoming parents. Yeah, that will make you grow up in a hurry! Looking back on it now, I wouldn't change a thing. Yes, it's been hard at times but God has given us grace and proven his faithfulness through it all. "For from him and through him and to him are ALL things. To him be the glory forever."
Here's our little fella on the day he was born...
And look at him now...
15 and growing fast!!! Just like his Daddy in so.many.ways! I need to find some baby Chuck pictures to post alongside Evan's... practically identical:) So smart, handsome, and talented... hard-headed, too! We are blessed that God chose us to be your parents, Evan. He is using you in big and small ways to impact us and those all around you. Make it count for the kingdom.
We hit up The Flying Burrito in Raleigh for a little celebration time on Tuesday. The HHS baseball teams awards night and cookout was planned on Evan's birthday. His friend Ben shares the same b-day (just a year older than Evan) so Ben's Mom made a yummy treat for the guys and the team sang them a very off-key, but enthusiastic Happy Birthday Song!
He'll be getting his learner's permit probably this week, getting fitted for contacts on Thursday (the one trait he inherited from me=bad eyes) and as I type this, he is at his very first JOB! He'll be working some doing set-ups at Providence Baptist Church this summer, filling in for some guys while they are out. He is super excited about making some $cash$.
Chuck will be taking the boys on a road trip to Atlanta in 2 weeks to celebrate his birthday...BRAVES style! They are excited to spend the weekend at the game and exploring in Atlanta. More pics to come after the trip!
