We've not had a lot of big changes since Christmas. Well, we moved to another house. Here she is...
We hope to be able to call this home for a while. We all love it!
Me and Natalie had a fun girls night a few weeks back. The theater department at Heritage High School performed The Little Mermaid... it was outstanding. Natalie was in awe of the music and the costumes. Very impressive!
Flash photography wasn't allowed. My phone pic doesn't do Ursula justice.
Natalie's class also celebrated the 100th day of school in early February. Each student was to create a project to share with the class using 100 of something... we made a lollipop garden with 100 Dum Dum's. My mom and sister were in town that weekend and helped plant the garden:) Cute, right?
I have to share this sweet picture of my buddy Hayden. He's my sidekick 1 day a week and a constant reminder of the messes little boys can make! Love him!
We celebrated Valentines Day with some sweets and simple treats... and some big news I'll tell ya about in a minute!
Roses from Chuck and cupcakes for breakfast! What?! Yes, I sugared up the kids and sent them to school!!! Not a lot, just a little. They came home from school and ate more cupcakes and we had a special supper together.
That same week was baseball tryouts at Heritage High. Evan has played baseball since he was very young. He's always loved it and he's always been good at it. But at one point I didn't think he was even going to try out for the high school team. Fundamentally, he's a strong player. He's consistant and works hard, but he's so much smaller than the other athletes his age. We've continued to encourage him to work hard. To never give up. To follow his dreams. And to give God all the glory. It makes me so proud as a parent to watch him do just that...
The tryouts lasted all week. Every day I anxiously awaited to see how things went. On the final day of tryouts, Chuck went to pick him up. I kept texting Chuck to see if he knew anything. My husband knows me well and he humored me:) The last text he sent me said that the coach was handing out envelopes to all the players and that he'd have Evan call me. Then I waited a little longer to get the scoop. The players got either a letter that said they didn't make it or a schedule for the season. Evan got a schedule:) Although he's officially the smallest guy on the team, the coaches noticed his effort and commended him for working hard, despite his size. We are thrilled to be part of the Heritage Huskies baseball team! Looking forward to a great season!
