Catching up

Chuck reminded me that I hadn't blogged in a few weeks so I'll try and catch you up to speed...

The kids spent 8 days away, mostly in Georgia and a few in Florida. They were excited to spend time with family. Always a treat for them! Mostly because they get spoiled while they are there. They did alot of pool hopping and hit up a water park in Florida while visiting Uncle Adam and Aunt Penny. We are so thankful that our family loves on us so well and takes off work, drives 8 + hours, and carts our kids around. Here's some of what their week looked like...

Big Daddy brought the kids back home on Monday, July 23rd and he stayed the night with us and rested up for the long drive back to Ga. From there on out, we babysat for some friends, I got sick, we went to the North Raleigh Kick-off night for the Bulldogs, hosted a small group planning meeting for the new group we're about to birth, and took the kids to the dr. for their yearly physicals and dental check ups (no cavities!) Yay!

We had our sweet friends, the Taylors, stay with us the following Saturday night as they were passing through headed to VA. Drew and Lindsay were in our small group during their time here in Wake Forest. We were so excited to spend some time with them and hear their plans for going overseas next year. Lindsay was pregnant with their second little boy when they moved back to Mississippi so it was fun to see their newest addition in real life:) Thankfully, she's a blogger too so I get to keep up with their fam and see pictures on a regular basis! We had some of our other friends from small group come over to hang out with the Taylors while they were in town and Chuck cooked some awesome mexican dishes for us to share... I do love that my husband likes to cook (since it's not my favorite thing.)

Since it was the 5th Sunday of the month, our small group had a cookout at Joyner Park. We're winding down the summer and getting ready to "birth" a new group next month. We have so much fun together and are so thankful for the relationships we've developed with all these sweet friends. Here's a group shot of the ladies and the guys...

Can you believe we were still missing 7 adults, plus we didn't even attempt to take a picture of the 20 kids in our group! Lots of folks. Lots of love!

The following Monday morning brought routine back into our home... a new school year began for Noah and Natalie. With their year-round schedule it seems as though they just got out. Then again, I think they were ready to go back!

Natalie began 1st grade and Noah began 5th... those are the grades Noah and Evan were beginning the year we moved to Wake Forest.

Here's their first day of school headshots:)

Football season is also beginning for us too. Evan won't be playing this year because he didn't meet the minimum weight requirement set by Pop Warner. We're disappointed that he'll miss out but hoping to focus more on baseball right now. Noah IS going to be playing in the Jr. Pee Wee division as a
Bulldog, of course! He began practices this week which means life will be busy for us the next few months. The players have to get in their conditioning hours and then will begin practice in full pads. We are looking forward to a fun season. Chuck has been recruited again to help with the team and I know Noah is excited about having Dad with him!

Evan starts high school in a few weeks and I will also be taking classes through Liberty beginning at the same time. Full load. Part time job. Full time Mommy/Wife, etc. After this semester I'll have 9 education classes to take to have my B.S. in Elementary Education. But praise God, Chuck is finished with classes:)
