Surprise!!

Our sweet small group planned a surprise graduation party for Chuck this past Sunday. Normally, our group would not meet on the first Sunday so that everyone could attend corporate prayer at our church. When I was filled in on the party plan I was a little nervous about having to explain to Chuck why we were going to the Burgess' home that night... I'm not a good liar or very creative at all so I tried to avoid the topic all together and casually pass it off if he asked any questions. He never acted as though he knew anything but spilled the beans that he had figured it out as we drove up to "small group" that night:) You can't really get anything passed him. He analyzes everything and worked in law enforcement for many years. Enough said:)

There was a banner and confetti and cake and yummy food... such sweet friends to share life with. We are so very thankful for these families that God has placed around us.

Noah said "Wow, Mom and Dad are on a cake!" As though we were some celebrities who just so happen to be cake models! I don't know that he ever caught on to how that cake was actually made:)

Our group gave Chuck a precious card with notes inside and a gift. But most importantly, they covered us in prayer that night... prayers for our marriage, our children, and our future. Thank you, friends, for being such an encouragement to us. We love you!!
