Turning 14

Our baby turned 14 on May 22. I can't even believe it... he'll finish middle school next month... which means high school is just around the corner. He's as tall as me. His feet are huge! He acts just like his Daddy:) He's a charmer. Girls love him. He still loves sports. And I love to watch him play! He's growing up so fast and we can see the Lord working in his life. We are blessed to be his parents and love him so much!

Here he is back in the day...

And today...

His birthday fell on a weekday and we were swamped with school, baseball, appointments, and family coming to visit... so we waited to celebrate with the fam the next weekend. He even got his braces on that week!

I took him and Dillan to eat breakfast at The Border before his appointment. His birthday gift is around his neck:) Georgia Bulldog Skull Candy!

After the braces... see the excitement! I think he's finally getting used to them.

Lynn, Scott, Austin, and Mom all got to our house Friday afternoon. Austin and Evan have the same birthday so we planned to celebrate together while they were in town. We went to the Museum of History and the Museum of Natural Science in downtown Raleigh on Saturday. We enjoyed lunch at Pharoah's and walked over to the Capital building before heading home.

Church, naps, games, and small group occupied our time on Sunday. And on Monday, we grilled hamburgers and hotdogs for lunch and went to the Carolina Mudcats game that afternoon.

Evan and Austin were selected to play a water balloon game during the 5th inning. They even got cool shirts for participating!

After the game, we enjoyed ice cream and cookie cake. Evan picked out the cookie (with pink icing) and thought it would be cool for us to put their names on it. I recommend letting a professional do that... lesson learned:)

Happy 14th Evan and Happy 16th Austin! We love you!
