In the spring of 2010 Matt, Merl, and Noah Joyner set out on a four-day mission trip to Haiti. They were filled with anticipation and hope. They wanted to make themselves available to serve others through their gifts as builders and electricians. What they found there were needs and opportunities that exceeded their most active imaginations. They found an orphanage in need of extensive repairs. They found children in need of deep attention and care. They found a community devastated by sin, Satan, and self. They found what it means to serve, love, need, and hope.
Upon return from a second trip in August of the same year, it became clear that any meaningful ministry would necessarily engage their local church. After consulting the leadership of North Wake Church it became clear to all involved that ministry in Ouanaminthe was necessary, wise, and beneficial. So HaitiLove was born. What started as the passion of three brothers has become the passion of a small local church and by God’s grace the passion of many other brothers, sisters, and churches...
Our family was excited to share in the excitement of the first HaitiLove Christmas Project, which provided gifts for the children in the Orphanage on the Rock. Instead of our typical Operation Christmas Child Project, we were given information about a specific orphan and what item to provide for him/her. We were thrilled to be able to give a pair of shoes for Lukenson and hope to have contact with him in the near future!
Please join with us in praying for the children of "Orphanage on the Rock" in Ouanaminthe, Haiti
- Please pray for the health of the children. With susceptibility to disease, parasites, and accidents these children are at great risk for sickness and infection. Pray for continued adequate food and clean water.
- Please pray concerning the children’s education. Ask God to give them motivation, focus, clarity of thought and recall of information. Most of all a deep desire to learn and be educated.
- Pray for the spiritual well-being of the children. Ask God to protect them from the lies of the evil one. Pray for openness to the gospel as they hear the word. Ask God to shield them from false teaching and legalism.
- Pray for the leaders in their lives. Pray for their teachers, pastors, workers at the orphanage, and Willio. Ask God to protect and guide the children through their God given leaders.
- Pray that the children who still have living parents to be reunited with loving parents who work hard to love their children. For those who have no parents or parents who are not fit to care for them, pray that God would bring families to care for them as they should be cared for.

I love this. What a neat gift to give, love and compassion. Miss you guys
