With two boys playing football, it was bound to happen... just didn't think it would be in our front yard! There is no really cool story to describe how it happened. I guess you could say it's Noah's fault:) Yep, Evan has a broken thumb because of his little brother! They are always getting too rough with each other and it finally caught up with them. After ibuprofen, ice, and some tears I decided we would have someone take a look at his thumb. It was swollen and bruised and hurt to move. A trip to Rex Express Care and an x-ray confirmed that it was broken. Evan has been a good sport about it. Well, after he got over his initial reaction to retaliate! He may be enjoying the special treatment right now... and we had to laugh about some of the comments we got at the dr's office....
Nurse #1 - "Oooo, you have muscles for a little guy!" (As she's taking his BP)
Nurse #2 - "I was going to call you Justin (Beiber)" (As she's putting on the splint)
Female Dr. - "Your gonna have to lock him up to keep the girls away" (As we are leaving the office)
Evan will see a specialist at Raleigh Hand Center this afternoon. Hopefully, he'll mend quickly so he can get back to football. The doctor yesterday said it could be at least 4 weeks. We hope not. The division championship is in 2 weeks and if they win, they will begin region playoffs. Say a prayer for him because he doesn't want to miss these important games! I'll update as we know more...
