2011 Bulldog Pep Rally

By now you should know that we are a "football family" and that both of our boys are playing this year. We love playing Pop Warner ball and especially love being Bulldogs! Every year, our association hosts a pep rally and parade for the North Raleigh teams and it's always lots of fun. Vendors are set up with food and merchandise. They have games and a bounce house for the kids. And, we have a silent auction to raise money for our teams. Each team sets up a table with items available for bidding. Some do themed baskets and others break up the items for more individualized purchases. Since Chuck and I are the team parents for Jr. Midget Red (Evan's team) we had the pleasure of organizing all this:)

The silent auction lasts from 9am to 1pm so people have lots of time to look and bid on stuff. Our table had 11 different items available and we raised $424... we had lots of gift cards to restaurants and stores, a tailgating package, baseball tickets, theater tickets, etc. Thankfully, we had a tent to shield us from the rain that came!
The teams were also scheduled for pictures that day. Noah's team (Mitey Mite Red) had pictures early. Evan's team was scheduled for afternoon and got rained out.
At noon the parade starts. All the teams are lined up with their banners and they walk around the track and stop in the middle for the parents... they introduce the team coaches and the players do a chant and/or throw candy or footballs.
By the time it was over, we were soaking wet. An eventful day for the Bulldogs and lots of memories made. We are looking forward to this season... Go Mitey Mite Red and Jr. Midget Red!
