Sound the Alarm!!!

Last night, Noah insisted that I wake him up this morning at 6:30 so he could have "time to do stuff." I usually get the boys up around 6:45 or so. Really, it depends on how many times I hit my snooze:) So, I didn't think much about his request. I told him I would and should have known that I had to keep my word. In his mind, if you say something is going to happen at a certain time, then it must happen AT THAT TIME! We've learned that because he has Asperger's he takes things literally. No joke! Anyway, I set my alarm for 6:30 with intention of getting up and then waking him... however, I woke up to him standing over me anxiously saying "Mom, you told me you'd get me up at 6:30 and you didn't!" As I wipe the sleepy from my eyes (and mind you, I'm no morning gal!) the alarm goes off. It's just now 6:30. I think he got up and looked at another clock that was a few minutes ahead of mine. Regardless, he was completely dressed for school and now demanding breakfast. (He's always ready to eat the moment his feet hit the floor.) As he stands in the kitchen, he's now shouting "Mom, your 3 minutes over. You said you'd be up at 6:30." The "your ____ minutes over" continued for several minutes. Chuck and I were awake but still not up. I had to giggle as he continued to sound the alarm:) Needless to say, everyone in our house was up early today!
