Life in the cul-de-sac

Although we are loving our new house, I have to admit that it is still strange not to be at the apartment that we've spent the last 2 years of our lives in! Several times, I've found myself going down the road that leads to that place instead of taking a left at the 4-way stop. It's just been a habit for so long. You see, although I was SO READY for a change, I found it to be a little difficult as I packed up and cleaned the apartment before we moved out. So many memories were made during our time there. It was our first major move away from family. It was where I called my new home after shedding tears after our move. It's where Noah finally learned to ride his bike. It's where he lost his first tooth. It's where we met wonderful friends and neighbors who we could always bum stuff from:) It's where we started our first small group! It's where we made our first family Thanksgiving and shared with new friends. It's where Natalie hosted her first Valentine's tea party. It's where secrets were shared and bonds were formed. It's where we could crank up the music and sing and dance, knowing those around us wouldn't mind. It's where we broke stuff, like windows and mini blinds. It's where Evan started middle school and continued to excel in sports. It's where we played in our first real snow! It's where we loved each other, through good times and through struggles. It's where God revealed Himself to us in so many ways... proving his faithfulness to us! It's where our lives changed. We are ever so grateful! So now, as we live life out of the seminary "bubble" I pray that we would make more memories that would honor Christ our Savior and that we will love our new neighbors as He loves us!
